Highlights
Product specification
The same construction in every Well Woven pad — only the size changes.
Care confidence
Spot clean only — not machine washable.
Maintenance
Lay flat under your rug. If it shifts, just reposition — no adhesive needed.
Cleaning
Vacuum the pad now and then (suction only). If a spill soaks through, blot it dry, spot-clean with a little mild soap and water, and let it air-dry flat. Never machine wash or soak it.
Longevity
Replace around five to seven years, or sooner when you notice the grip isn’t what it used to be.
Floor Note
Designed for common hard-surface floors. Floor materials and finishes vary, so follow your flooring manufacturer’s care guidance and test in an inconspicuous area if you’re unsure.
Fit
Our pads pair 1/4" dense felt at 15 oz/sq yd with a natural rubber base. The felt adds cushioning underfoot and a protective layer between the rug and floor, while the backing helps reduce shifting on clean, dry floors.
A rug pad helps reduce shifting on clean, dry floors, adds a protective layer between the rug and floor, adds cushion underfoot, and can help reduce wear on your rug. It’s a small upgrade you can feel every time you walk across the room.
Our natural-rubber rug pads are designed for many common hard-surface floors, including hardwood, engineered wood, tile, laminate, vinyl, LVP/LVT, concrete, and stone. Floor materials, finishes, sealants, and care requirements vary, so follow your flooring manufacturer’s guidance and test in an inconspicuous area if you’re unsure.
Not recommended for rubber-backed rugs. On radiant-heated floors, check your flooring manufacturer’s recommended temperature limits first.
Five to seven years for most homes — longer in low-traffic rooms. The dense felt holds its loft, and the natural rubber base won’t dry out or crumble the way budget pads do. You’ll know it’s time to replace when the grip starts to slip, the felt has compressed flat, or you can feel the floor through it underfoot.
Absolutely. Grab household scissors and trim to any shape or size. We recommend cutting 1–2 inches smaller than your rug on each side so the pad stays hidden beneath the edges.
Minimal effort. A few times a year, lift the rug and give the pad a quick vacuum (suction only, skip the beater bar), then vacuum the floor underneath. If a spill soaks through, blot the pad dry, spot-clean with a little mild soap and water if needed, and let it air-dry flat before the rug goes back. Don't machine wash or soak it, since water breaks down the natural rubber grip.
Spot clean only. This pad isn't machine washable. Blot spills with a dry cloth, use a little mild soap and water on a stubborn spot, and let it air-dry flat before the rug goes back. Soaking or machine washing breaks down the natural rubber grip, so a quick spot-clean is both the easy way and the right way.
Order the pad 1–2 inches shorter and narrower than your runner so the pad stays fully hidden underneath. We’d rather you have a pad that’s slightly small than one that peeks out at the edges.
The natural rubber base is designed to add grip on clean, dry, compatible hard surfaces, but a loose runner-and-pad combination can still shift. On stairs, trim the pad to the tread depth (not over the riser), follow the stair and flooring manufacturer’s guidance, and use a qualified installer or appropriate fastening method where secure installation is required.
Hallway and stair runs are never a standard length. Selling by the linear foot lets you order the exact length your space needs — no waste, no compromise. We cut from continuous rolls so your pad arrives sized to your runner. Final sale; cuts are made-to-order.
