The size of the stair tread rug you need depends on the width of your stairs. The most desirable stair tread rug covers a good portion of the stairs while still allowing the bare floor to show on either side.
Well Woven offers stair tread rugs in sets of seven. Each stair tread piece measures 9-inches by 13-inches. They are designed to fit standard-sized stairs between 3-feet and 4-feet wide.
Unlike installing a custom runner rug to your staircase, our stair tread rugs are simply installed the minute they're placed down. We do, however, recommend they be kept in place with rug tape or tacks (sold separately).
Start from the bottom of the staircase and work your way up. Carefully position the first stair tread rug at the bottom of the first step, ensuring it's centered and aligned properly. Once the stair tread is in position, press down firmly to adhere it to the step. Make sure there are no air bubbles or wrinkles in the rug. Continue placing your stair tread rugs until you've reached the last step of your staircase.
