What width should I get for my hallway?

Most hallways and stair runs work best with a 4–6 inch margin of bare floor on each side. A 3-foot-wide hall takes a 27″ runner; a 3.5–4-foot-wide hall takes a 31″ runner. If you’re between sizes, the narrower runner usually looks more intentional.

How do I measure for stairs?

Multiply the tread depth + riser height by the number of steps, then add 6–12 inches for the landing wrap. Always round up; we can’t add length later. If you have multiple flights, order one continuous runner so the seam doesn’t fall on a step.

Will the cut edge fray or look unfinished?

Every Well Woven runner is finished with a serged edge before it ships — the same edge treatment we use on our area rugs, professionally bound to prevent fraying. The cut you receive is the finished product; nothing about it reads like a remnant.

Why is the 1-foot length still an option?

That’s a real product, not a leftover. Customers use 1-foot cuts for samples, repair patches, and custom edge sections — it stays in the dropdown intentionally. Most hallway buyers start at 4–8 feet.

How long does it take?

Are runners returnable?

Custom-cut runners are final sale because each one is cut to order from a continuous roll. If something arrives defective, contact us within 48 hours and we’ll replace it.

Can I machine-wash a custom-cut washable rug?

Yes — same washable construction as our standard sizes. Cold water, gentle cycle, lay flat to dry. Skip the dryer; heat is what shortens a washable rug’s life, not the wash itself.

Hallway runner

We have a long (30’) hallway leading to bedrooms and the runner we purchased fits perfectly. Color and thickness all match web site pictures and description. I like feel of rug with my bare feet.

Disappointed!

I feel that what I received in the mail is a lesser quality rug. It looks different in the picture. I’m told it is a custom rug that can’t be returned. It’s not custom. It is one of the size options in the ad. I spent over $200 for this rug. I won’t make this mistake again !!

Rug runner

Looks to be good quality. Just got it laid out yesterday. We had quite a few days of delay in the underpad reaching us for whatever reason. At this point we are happy but the rug seems to want to have a curve in it as if the cord on the edge of one side is tighter than the other. We are going to work with it with some stretching occasionally.
